Outlander’s picnic at Loch Katrine Scotland

Loch Katrine is located in Scottish Highlands, just next to Loch Lomond.

Sir Walter Scott was charmed by the lake so much that it inspired him to write the famous 19th century poem, The Lady of the Lake.

Queen Victoria visited the loch in 1869 and took a boat trip while enjoying the view of the surrounding area.

And you can too!

Hop on the board of Sir Water Scott, a steamship in service since 1899.

There is an option to opt in for more modern cruiser, The Lady of the Lake.

You can also explore Glengyle on the north side, birthplace of Rob Roy MacGregor.

He was a Scottish outlaw that turned into a hero.

It's also a great place for walking and hiking due to the hills and various hiking trails.

If you are a fan of Outlander, you may appreciate the filming location where in season 2, episode 13, the protagonists having a picnic on the banks of Loch Katrine.

Can you find the same spot?
